Italian in origin, the name was originally Granzotti way back when.  Sometime maybe 20 years ago (maybe 50), Grandma Gilda, being the spicy little thing that she was, just up and dropped one of the T's for no good reason at all other than to prove how much of a dare devil she really was.  After that, it just kinda stuck.  - TRUE (sort of)
